Project Management

The Xayaburi Hydroelectric Power Project is managed by Xayaburi Power Company Limited, a company registered on 22 June 2010 in Lao PDR with its headquarter in the capital Vientiane and representative office in Bangkok, Thailand.

XPCL signed a concession agreement (CA) with the government of the Lao PDR on 29 October 2010 to develop the project on a Build-Own-Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. Under the agreement, Xayaburi Power Company Limited designs, constructs and operates the 1,285 MW hydropower plant for a period of 29 years on the first day of commercial operation. At the end of the concession period in 2048 , the entire
project will be transferred to Lao PDR.
